Runner-up Pet With Human: "I'm entering your contest with a heavy heart. Attached you will find a picture of my Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tonka, and my son, Gavin. It was Gavin's first Halloween. Tonka loved him dearly and was his constant companion until Tonka was stolen on November 14, 2001. I have not stopped looking for him since. The police were actually involoved in the investigation from November '01 through March '02 and I am very greatful to Detective Darryl Swafford of the Germantown Police Department. I know that in many areas, a dog theft wouldn't even get the courtesy of a police report, much less 4 months of investigation, so I know how lucky I am.
In the photo, Tonka was 2 1/2 years old and Gavin was 8 months. We live in Germantown, OH. Tonka's "Official" name was UKC BIS/AKC/UKC/INT Champion Boomtown's Buster Brown, CGC. We have bounced back and have other dogs now, but none will EVER replace our beloved Tonka." - Carey & Gavin
