How long are dogs in heat and when they are impregnated how long befor
they give birth? How can you tell if they have been impregnated or
not? We have a bitch dog and she is about 1and a 1/2 years old and this
is the second time for her to come around into heat, we are looking at
breeding her because she is a very smart dog and friends of ours have
male who is also very smart and we feel they would make very good
puppies and we already have takers for the puppies. We only want for her
to have one litter, then we want to heve her fixed. So i would greatly
appreciate an answer to my above mentioned questions. Thank in advance

You should not breed a dog just because you have friends that want a puppy. Remember you are responsible for all the dogs you bring into the world. At 1 and 1/2 yrs she is only a puppy herself and should not have a litter. Think long and hard before you do a breeding.
