I am getting a boxer puppy. My breeder says that I shouldn't let him go
up the stairs because it will cause hip problems later in life. I have
read a lot of books and have never heard anything like that. I realize
that stairs are dangerous for the simple reason that he could fall, but
will going up and down them actually cause hip problems? Thanks for your

I don't think going up and down stairs will cause hip problems. Perhaps what your breeder meant was to be careful and watch that your puppy goes up and down stairs carefully!
