Hello,
We are in contact with a breeder of Golden Retrievers and the mother
just delivered five days early. There were 12 pups born and now only
three are alive after a week. We had arranged
to buy a female pup and I am wondering what to be aware of in these
pups. The females seem
strong and the breeder has assured us she will not sell us a pup is
there is a problem. I do worry about problems later. Thank you. Paula

It is perfectly normal that a female with 12 pups would whelp them 5 days early. There could
be many reasons why so many of them died. But if three are still alive at 8 weeks, there is no reason
why you should believe that there would be anything wrong with them.
Your breeder has been honest with you - so I would say "enjoy your new puppy"!
