I'm trying to find a toy manchester terrier puppy, which is proving
rather difficult! there is a breeder however in oklahoma who says they
have TMT puppies and can ship one to me. however, they can't email me
any pics.. and i'm also worried since they're so far away i can't see
the kennel, the parents, etc.
on the other hand they've screened the pups for genetic diseases,
vaccinated them, and they say their parents are both AKC Champions,
etc.
is it safe to get a puppy from this breeder or should i keep looking?
thanks
Derrick
Any breeder who will ship a puppy should be able to send you pictures of the sire and dam,
at the very least. Better yet, they should supply you with a video.
You say they've "screened their pups for genetic diseases... and their parents are both AKC
champions, etc..." You can't screen a puppy for genetic diseases, it's the parents that are screened.
You should really find a breeder closer to you. It is always best to see their dogs in person. AKC
champions on a pedigree do not necessarily mean you will get a healthy puppy. How far back in the
pedigree are the champions? (Just some things that should be considered carefully).
