Expert Breeder Questions

We have a 12 year old basset hound who we love. She is slowing down and is often lonely. She has a little arthritis but other than that is in good health. Last Thanksgiving we brought home a new pup which we kept until Christmas and then gave it to my nieces and nephews. While she was living here the two played together very well although the puppy's enthusiasm sometimes got on Alice's nerves. They even remembered each other and played when they saw each other this Thanksgiving. My question is, should we buy a puppy as a playmate for Alice or is that too much for a twelve year old dog to handle. I say Yes (for me and Alice) and my wife says no. What do you think. - posted by Trvlrhank.

Hi Trvlrhank... I think the puppy would bring new life to Alice but if your wife says NO then DON'T DO IT. Everyone must agree happily to the new pup.
