My daughter recently rescued a 6-month-old Italian Greyhound. When she
comes to visit--we "babysat" for a week while they were out of town--she
goes to the bathroom in various places in our house. It will happen
right after she comes in from a long walk or soon after having been let
out. We even leave the door open for her to come and go as she
pleases. It's not physical because she can go the whole night without
having an accident. She also won't go in our family room--just the
living and dining rooms and bedrooms.

Hi Dianne. She's hiding the poop in rooms where no-one is and she needs the full housebreaking lesson procedure, walked on a leash. She can not come and go at will until she follows the rules. Regular scheduled meals and walks, confinement in crate when you can't watch her and rewards for going outside. See "messin around in the house". Remember, the more consistent you are the more consistent she will be. P.S. Easy to clean up the mess from a 4lb dog! They are so cute!
