How do we get our German Shepard to take treats out of our hands gently, without taking our arm's off?? -Kime

Make him sit and wait. Hold the treat in your hand (closed). Let him sniff your hand. Let him know he must sit and wait until you say "ok" before he can get the treat. Do not let children try this until he is reliably gentle, because he will probably regress immediately with a small child. Wrap the child's hand with yours and do the exercise again - lots of times! If he is biting, really biting (drawing blood), he needs much stronger training - now!
