I have two female cockers (Hanna & Chelsea). They are two months old and are
kind of housebroken. They will have a good week and a bad week. I work during
the day but take them out regularly when I am home. They are both in the
biggest crate I could find. I wanted them together so they could play during
the day. They hate going out in the rain or if the grass has dew on it. I want
to keep them out of the crate but when I do they mess in the house. Any
suggestions?
Everyone keeps telling me to be patient. That it gets better when their older.
Thanks for your time!!!

Eight weeks old! If they have good weeks, you are doing great! Keep using the crate until you are sure they have the muscle
control they need. This takes time and patience. To speed up the process, cut up some liverwurst in cube-sized chunks. Keep
it in a baggy in the freezer, and in your jacket pocket when you walk them on-leash. When they squat outside, before they
leave the squat position, pop a piece in their mouths ("Good girl!"). And if it's wet out, they get to come back inside right
after doing #1 and #2.
With the reward plus the crate, they should be 100% in another month or two. They are way ahead of schedule - be patient!
And remember: they need to be socialized with other people and animals early so they're not scared of them later. This is very
important, especially for Cockers!
