Viewer Question Topic: Dogs Greeting People

Dear Bif, I have a four year old dalmation that i adopted from the shelter . He is a real good dog to me and my family but when i take him for a walk he goes after anyone who walks by him. The only history i have on him is a letter his previous owner wrote. all it said is that Stone is good with others and small animals. I found this to be not true. He is a real good dog but not to others - what should i do thank you for your time, - Mike

Hi Mike, First disregard the letter, it's no help... then find a good trainer! Tell him/her about Stone's aggression. You must find out what triggers the aggression. Maybe he's protecting you, maybe he's scared and was not socialized properly. With the trainers help you should be able to change that program! Good Luck. P.S. Congrats on adopting a sheltered Dal!
